Scout Camp

Well as you all know I have been gone for 5 days in Moab, Utah white water rafting. Is was a great trip and would definitely do it again. Wish I had pictures, but didn't bring a camera.
(this is probably my longest post lol)

DAY 1:

The drive was very long and boring (8.5 hours). My car basically listened to all my cool music I had on my iPod which we plugged into the radio. We got lost a couple of times putting us back about 45 minutes. As we finally got to our camp site for the night, I set up my tent in the dark. 4 people were going to sleep in my tent and we all get in and it felt like someone cranked up the heater. It was so HOT! One of my tent sharers or whatever found another tent to spend the night in. Luckily I slept fine.

DAY 2, 1st day on river:

When we all woke up, we packed up our gear and headed to McDonald's for breakfast. It was disgusting! I will never get a Deluxe Breakfast ever again. (The orange juice was good though) After breakfast, we headed down to the White Water Expeditions HQ and got our life jackets. My group got into a bus and drove down to the part of the river where we started our adventure. The river was very slow. No rapids or anything cool. We were all very bored and VERY excited to come home. That night we had burgers for dinner. Mmmmm!

DAY 3, 2nd day on river:

We packed our gear and threw into our trailer. And got back on the river. There were lots or rapids this time. It was so much fun. A couple of guys fell out of the boat and held onto the side of our boat until the rapid ended. Later that day, we got settled into our next camp ground. That night was the best night I slept until the storm. Winds were blowing very hard and blowing polls out of tents and taking tarps off. It was really crazy. The entire camp was up all night at like 2 in the morning staking down and tents and just talking cuz we couldn't sleep. I have to say, it was kind of fun with all the wind. It eventually slowed down and everyone was able to get back to sleep.

DAY 4, 3rd day on river:

Well we past all of the rapids in the river, so the guides decided to get us in the bus and go do yesterday's section of the river so we could have some more fun. The best part of that is that we didn't have to take down camp and set it up all over again. So basically it was the same as yesterday, but with no storm.

DAY 5, going home:

I woke up and packed my stuff and helped anyone else who needed so we could leave ASAP. we left about 7:45 AM Utah time. I got home around 5 PM, took a shower and left for grandpa's house for Jacob's B-Day party.

I did skip a lot of stuff cuz it is just to much to right. I earned the White Water Rafting and Rowing merit badges which will go toward my Eagle Palms. I also got the Cleanest Camper award since I never had any dirt on my body at the end of the day and picked up trash often. The mountains and stuff were really amazingly pretty and there was one rock formation that looked like a gummy bear lol. If you get the chance, go rafting down the Colorado River, but be sure to wear lots of sunscreen lol.Below is the merit badges I earned and am not sure if these are the current looking ones.

Rowing

White Water Rafting

These merit badges were VERY fun. I flipped big boats rowed, and tied lots of knots for these. Well this is all for today. I my tired and am finally going to sleep on a comfy mattress instead of the hard ground. (If you have and questions about my trip fell free to post and I will be sure to answer them)

Good Night.

Memories

Since Leslie did this and I commented I have to do this too. :)
(Does anyone even have a memory of me besides my parents lol?)

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Family Home Evening

Well this evening my family and I had FHE which we haven't done forever it seems like lol. But, we learned about how Christ appeared to the Nephites in America. There was a nice spirit in the home until Alex started freaking out. Before the nice lesson given by my dad, I gave a scripture.
It is D&C 1:12, "Prepare ye prepare ye for which is to come, for the Lord is nigh." I thought that was a really cool scripture. I explained to the little ones and we all thought it was something we a need to start doing better, PREPARE.

After all of that, we had a treat organized by Connor, which was Bananna Splits! Mmmmmm!

It was a great night. :)

My Saturday

This morning I woke up at 7:00am and went to work in my backyard. I mowed and cleaned the porch and basically made the yard look nice for the realtor. I also cleaned up a big pile of palm tree trimmings that has been sitting for months lol. Then my family and I went to help Leslie's family move in to my Grandpa's house. We left my grandpa's and went straight to our "soon to be" new home. I have a ton of pictures of the house I would like to share. The pictures of the inside were taken through windows, so they aren't very clear.

Santan National vs. Desert View

My team did not win, but that is ok. The final score was 5 - 3. My team did fine out on the field, but hitting was problem. Not very many of us were getting on base. I was 2 for 3; struck out once by 2 horrible calls, and got 2 singles. I almost got picked off at first base, but there was a guy on third base and he went for home and he was safe and so was I at second. Phew!

I pitched great. My first inning was a no hitter like always and my second inning one guy scored. I also got 4 strike outs this game.

Baseball season has officially came to an end. Now It's time to focus on football.

A Painful Loss

Well the score was 10 - 12, Desert Ridge wins. My teams defence was off my a lot. Our starting pitcher walked every batter giving desert ridge 3 points till finally we got 3 outs. The next inning we pull our pitcher and he started throwing strikes. Later in the game I pitch. The score is 6 - 6 so no one can score. Strike one, Strike two, Strike three!! were the calls I got for my first batter. I struck this kid out with a beautiful curve ball. The same calls were called for the 3 batters i faced. My pitching was definitely on.

8 - 8 in extra innings. Our pitcher is walking people left and right. Bases loaded by walks, desert ridge hits a single to right field letting 2 runs score. 8 - 10, 2 guys on base. Another single to center 1 run scores. Bases get loaded again by walks and a ball is hit to me in left field. I run to the ball catch it, and whirl it in to home letting know score. But the catcher just had to miss my throw (it was right to him) and a run scores.

Finally my team is up to bat. As we get a guy on third with 2 outs. I hit a nice grounder between first and second base. I got to second and I receive an RBI. we get another hit and I score. The next to batters strike out and the game is over.

Really not a fun game besides me pitching. And after the game my friend starts calling me out on the phone saying the entire game was my fault because i shouldn't have thrown the ball to home. but instead throw it to second base. The guy on third would have been home anyway if I threw to second...... And he is the one who spent the night at our starting pitchers house and stayed up till 4 in the morning. (I know i sound like a jerk, but I'm just upset)

Sorry if this post sounds a little weird. I don't think I arrange it very well.
